Gameplay[]

Space Frontier's gameplay revolves around the exploration of over 500 planets scattered throughout a vast galaxy. Along the way, players are able to join factions, acquire equipment (primarily weapons in the form of handheld firearms), accumulate resources, complete missions, upgrade their spaceship, fight enemies, level up and, among other things, partaking in events such as the Cargo Ship.

Weapons[]

Exemplary Auto Shotgun

Exemplary is the rarest tier of the five. This is an Auto Shotgun with that tier.

Weapons are items used to inflict damage to other NPCs, generally enemies. They are obtained at a chance when killing enemies. Weapons can have any one of five unique tiers, each affecting the weapon's rarity and potency:

  • Common
  • Strong
  • Great
  • Incredible
  • Exemplary

Enemies[]

Enemy 11

A cube, designated as Enemy 11, found on planets like CS-23, MR-146 and WR-440.

Enemies are hostile NPCs found on every planet. There are 27 unique enemy types in Space Frontier, including 2 that are spawned by other NPCs.

Some enemies have the ability to fly, others bunny-hop and some can attack from a distance. Examples of enemy types include the flying Enemy 3, the distant attacker Enemy 14 and the bunny-hopping Enemy 21.

Factions[]

Factions are groups controlled by players and NPCs. There are 5 factions in Space Frontier, of which one is required to be chosen by the player on the main menu:

  • IllumiThe Illumi fight for freedom.
  • DereptThe Derept fight for power.
  • GuardThe Guard fight for law and order.

Faction-specific weapons, obtained from acquiring enough reputation and levelling up, gain a bonus statistic increase that varies with faction. For the Illumi, low recoil; for the Derept, increased aiming accuracy and walkspeed; for the Guard, additional critical damage.

Planets[]

Planet RT-408

RT-408, a Living-type planet located at coordinates E1.

Planets are worlds the player can land on and explore. There are 500 planets in the Space Frontier galaxy, excluding their moons. Each planet has its own statistics, environment and enemies. Some planets also have resource nodes that can be harvested to collect rare materials.

Examples of planet types include Apocalypse, Frozen, Organic, Turbulent and Zen.

Capturing[]

By belonging to a faction, and having player-versus-player combat enabled, players can 'capture' planets. Capturing a planet awards a base of 10 reputation. With the Well known perk, this can be increased up to a maximum of 30 reputation for every planet captured.

By capturing a planet, the number of faction-controlled planets is increased by 1. Members of the faction controlling the most planets at any given time are given a 20% experience bonus.
